Robert T. Park

Bob Park is a graduate of the University of Illinois, where he received his B.A. in political science with high honors in 1968, and his law degree (J.D.) in 1973. He is a principal in the Rock Island law firm of Snyder Park Nelson & Schwiebert PC.
For over 37 years, Bob has practiced law in the Quad Cities, working primarily in the areas of personal injury litigation, general civil practice and insurance. Admitted to the bar in both Illinois (1973) and Iowa (1984), he has handled trials and appeals in state and federal courts, including the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and Illinois Supreme Court. He is also admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States.
Bob served on the Assembly of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) from 1993 to 2001, and was again elected to the Assembly again in 2007. He has been a member of the ISBA General Practice Section Council and ISBA Tort Law Section Council, and is past Chair of the Civil Practice Section Council. He is currently serving on the ISBA Civil Practice Section Council, ISBA Insurance Law Section Council and ISBA Legislation Committee.
Bob has frequently been involved in state and local continuing legal education programs, including those of the ISBA, the Rock Island County and Scott County (Iowa) Bar Associations. He is currently President of the Rock Island County Bar Association.
He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel (IDC) from 1993 to 2005. Bob has served as co-chair of IDC Committees on Civil Practice and Procedure, and Diversity in Participation, and is a past columnist, editor and Editor-In-Chief (2003-04) for the IDC Quarterly, a scholarly legal journal.
Bob is the author of a chapter on Notice and Cooperation in Commercial and Professional Liability Insurance (Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education 2008), and a chapter on Duties of Policyholders and Insurer in Illinois Insurance Law (Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education 2009). He also contributed an article on legal ethics published in the May 2010 issue of the Illinois Bar Journal.
